Finals were today, anyone know the result?
Did anyone hear anything about the United Arab Emirates National Orchestra for any instrument? The contracts were supposed to begin in September, but the website doesn't have any info about concerts or personnel.
I can confirm that rehearsals have already begun for this orchestra, as per a press release from Emirati Times. I guess they'll publish the roster of musicians when the season starts.
Auditions were earlier this month for flute, bassoon, horn, and several string positions.

Auditions took place 8/22 and 8/23 for all string sections, harp, bass trombone, and percussion. Any news?

I’m told Zulfiya Bashirova was offered a section violin position.
Laura Herrera won the 1st violin fellowship, but declined and the position has been offered to runner up Maria Gabriela Mendez.
Javier Torres won the 2nd violin fellowship.

Recorded audition results were due out April 1st with several positions open in strings and brass. Anyone heard anything?

Acting Principal Horn was a no-hire. Rachel Hockenberry won 2nd horn, and Bryant Millet won 3rd trumpet
There was an audition scheduled for 3rd bassoon/contrabassoon and 2nd flute. Any updates?

I’ve never seen an orchestra have less regard for young musicians than the CSO. This, while very disappointing, totally tracks.

There were two tenure track auditions for the Glimmerglass Festival's opera orchestra this week, Principal Horn and Second Trombone. Anyone know how they turned out?
Could it have been Michael Bellofatto? I know he is based in Boston and he has been doing well at many auditions over the last couple years
