I think it’s worth noting that MN has, at least once in recent years, appointed an existing member of the orchestra to a title position without an audition, after the audition for that position resulted in a no-hire… it seems egregious for an orchestra to have such a rigorous and most likely biased audition/tenure process for outsiders, when a completely different set of rules seems to exist for those who are chosen/“blessed” by their concertmaster…
