Misha Bjerkin won assistant principal and Luke Rogers won a section spot.

There was a 3rd person in the finals and they may (or may not) have also won a section spot.

Finalists were Michael Zogaib, Logan Nelson, and Gene Waldron resulting in a no hire

I heard Omar Haffar and Javier Hernandez won the two section spots. Congrats to both!

You know the bass audition gossip is good when the forum looks like a TalkBass thread.

Brian Slack was awarded assistant. From what I can gather the remaining finalists were only interested in the title chair and not section so those spots remain unfilled.

As far as I saw, the Associate Principal position was won by Christian Luevano, and Alex Heather was hired for the section. They don’t have two Associate Principal positions.

Nick Delaurentis won principal and section was a no hire

I’ve heard that Rauno Meneses-Halamari won principal, and Daniel Benoit won assistant principal.

The Baltimore management and whoever headed the committee for this audition contacted many players from other “top” orchestras inviting them to do trial weeks for this latest version of an “audition” for this position. Most turned them down because it’s pretty known that Nina DeCesare won the audition but for whatever reason … didn’t get the position. Happy for Ha Young Jung, though.

Heard Principal was a no hire, Broner McCoy won section

This was the national round, right?

Tim Rinehart won 1st place, Remy Howard won 2nd, and Rauno Meneses-Halmari won 3rd.

This was a no-hire (national audition), there will be an international audition next
