Audition Results

There are several regional orchestras that use local auditions as part of their process. I’m sure at some point the musicians and their AFM local decided to give their local players this advantage, and possibly save their organization money by keeping the audition limited, with a smaller candidate pool.

If they’re going to do them, it’s nice to see folks actually be hired from the local round. If it’s just “for show” and no one is ever hired so that they can move to a national audition, then I’d have to say it’s time to do away with them and not waste everyone’s time and resources.
