is auditioning for:
Principal trumpet, bond to 2/3 trumpet

(the solo position will be shared with the current principal player/group leader)


The audition takes place: October 28th 2024

Required material for audition:

Pre-round (on video, by demand*)

*After the closing date, all applicants will be informed whether they are invited directly to the 1st round or will have to submit a pre-round video. Deadline for the video will be September 29th, 2024.

  • 1st round : Joseph Haydn: Trumpet Concerto 1st. etc. bars 37-117 (must be played on “American model” Bb trumpet) + orchestral excerpts: Mahler 5th symphony 1st mvt. bars 1-24

  • 2nd round : Arthur Honegger: Intrada for trumpet in C

  • 3rd round: Orchestral excerpts

All music to be played in orchestral tuning A = 442 hz

Orchestral excerpts will be sent electronically to the applicants after the closing date for applications and will be available to download on this page one month prior to the audition.

The audition will take place at the Symphonic Hall at Musikhuset Aarhus (Concert Hall Aarhus), Skovgaardsgade 2C, 8000 Aarhus C, Denmark. The Aarhus Symphony Orchestra will provide a pianist on the day of the audition, but traveling expenses and expenses for accommodation must be met by the applicant.

SALARY: Salary pursuant to the current agreements between the musicians' union and the Danish regional symphony orchestras.

NB : Candidates are asked to keep themselves informed as to the current rules and regulations concerning work permits in Denmark.
