John Parker of the Houston Symphony has been offered a trial for the position of Principal Trumpet of the Philadelphia Orchestra on 05/09/23. Super-finalists included John Parker and James Vaughen. The audition was previously held in October, 2022 at which time the audition resulted in a no-hire. NOVEMBER 2023 UPDATE: John Parker did not pass his trial. The position remains vacant and further audition proceedings by the POA are currently TBD.
